Raw Cocoa Banana Honey Facial Mask


Rationale 

Bananas were on sale at the grocery store so I picked up a few extra for baking, as well as homemade face masks! Banana masks are excellent for people who have oily or acne-prone skin because the fruit acids will slough off dead skin and encourage cells to regenerate. It will also balance sebum activity and brighten the skin.

Honey is an  antiseptic and antibacterial properties which means it kills germs and reduces  inflammation. Since honey is an antioxidant it will keep skin healthy, supple and beautiful. 

Cocoa is a powerful antioxidant that exfoliates and renews the skin. Plus cocoa slows down the aging process.

Ingredients 
  • 1 ripe banana
  • Honey
  • (Unsweetened) Cocoa powder

1. Peel one banana, and mash the fruit with a fork until smooth.
2. Add two table spoons of cocoa powder, and mix well.

3. Add one table spoon of honey, and stir well.

4. Refrigerate for 30 minutes and then apply evenly to face and neck.  Avoid the eye area and corners of the mouth.  Keep the product on for 15-20 minutes. Keep the left over in container, and toss after a week 3 days. 

The product is safe to use three times a week for those who have oily/ acne-prone skin, like myself. Those who have normal/combination skin should use the product only once to twice a week to avoid over-drying the skin.

1.) Likes/Pros:
-Smooth application
-Product has the perfect consistency (not chunky or runny)
-Cool to the touch (since the mask must be stored in the fridge)
-Face feels soft, moisturized and revitalized
-Porcelain skin after-use
-Brightens face
-Leaves a lemony yogurt scent (mmmm, yummy!)
-Recommended to people with dry skin
-Calming to the mind and skin
-Dries within 15 mins. of a light application
-Gently tightens skin
-Easily removed with a warm wash cloth

2.) Dislikes/Cons
-Short shelf-life (about 2 weeks)
-Average value ($8.35 CAD)

Overall Grade: A+
Final thoughts: I love this mask because of the wonders it does for my skin. I would definitely repurchase this item.

1.) Likes/Pros:
-Lemon-lime scent (very pleasant)
-Gentle exfoliator for face, elbows, knees and feet

2.) Dislikes/Cons
-Short self-life (about 2 weeks)
-Average value ($8.35 CAD)
-Experienced difficulties in application
-Product was extremely chunky because of the large pieces of seaweed
-The mask did not stick to my skin (It was frustrating because most of the product ended up in the sink.)
-No noticeable improvements in my skin

Overall Grade: D
Final thoughts: After all the positive reviews I have read and heard about BB Seaweed, the mask ended up to be disappointing.  I would NOT repurchase this item.
